Frequently Asked Questions:

Logistics:

How many camps has Gateway organized in the past?

Gateway has been organising summer and winter programs since 2015.

What time are the airport transfers on the first and last days, and what meals are provided?

First day: Airport transfer will be scheduled for the afternoon (2pm-4pm) to accommodate all
morning arrivals.
Last day: Campers will leave for the airport after breakfast and arrive at the airport by 10am, in
time for flights departing from 12pm onwards.
For campers who arrive early or depart late, we recommend that they spend time at Changi
Airport, which has numerous entertainment activities and food outlets.

Can participants make their own way to the designated hotel?

Yes, they can meet up with the rest of the group at the appointed check-in time.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is after 2pm and check-out is before 12pm.

How many meals are provided?

Dinner is provided on Day 1. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided on Days 2-6. Breakfast is
provided on Day 7.

their own travel arrangements to the designated meeting points. We will not be able to assist
parents who are lost or delayed

Child Safeguarding Processes:

Safety policy

Providing a fun and memorable experience for our campers begins with ensuring a secure environment for all. The Gateway programme is fully compliant with MOE’s safety policy. Below are our primary safety guidelines:
● We maintain stringent safety protocols during our excursions to minimise potential hazards.
●  All our team members undergo training in safety procedures and emergency protocols.
Certified first aid responders are part of our camp staff, equipped to handle medical emergencies.

In case of injuries, our trained staff will assess and provide immediate first aid.

We have a swift route to nearby medical facilities for emergencies requiring advanced medical care.

Parents/guardians will be notified immediately of serious injuries requiring medical attention.

Adult supervision policy

Each program is executed by qualified adult personnel. In general, we maintain a trainer/facilitator to participant ratio of 1:15. Campers will be supervised throughout the day, from 8am to 8pm. From 8pm to 8am, campers are expected to return to their rooms, where they may rest, continue to socialise with other campers or work on their group projects. Campers are not allowed to leave hotel premises. There will be an adult chaperone on site who will conduct night check-ins and attend to campers who require assistance.

Will there be a chaperone to accompany campers to/from Singapore?

Parents will have to arrange their child’s travel to/from Singapore, including hiring of
chaperones if required. Travel clearance for minors travelling on their own must be processed in
advance. We will provide an invitation letter to facilitate this process.

Can campers spend time with family/friends after the day’s program?

Yes, they may. We must receive parental consent in advance for evening excursions. Once campers leave hotel premises, they assume all responsibility for their personal safety. Campers are expected to return to their rooms by 10pm.

Who will safeguard participants’ passports?

There is an in-room safe where campers can store their valuables, including their passport.
